So There I Was, Starting a Blog
Every pilot, every soldier, every veteran of anything interesting knows how the best stories start. Not with a thesis statement. Not with a bulleted list of takeaways. They start with five words: so there I was.
That is what this blog is. Stories first, lessons second. Real situations, real decisions made under real pressure, and what they taught me. Some of them are funny now. Most of them were not funny at the time.
The one rule
Every post here follows the same rule: it has to be true, and it has to have cost something to learn. If a lesson came free, it probably was not much of a lesson.
